Stoneweg is a global alternative investment group headquartered in Geneva Switzerland, part of SWI Group.
The group was founded in 2015 by a veteran team of investment professionals and has grown its platform and capabilities both organically through joint ventures and through strategic acquisitions to ca. €9.0 billion of Asset Under Management(“AUM”).
Stoneweg is a trusted capital partner and investment manager to a range of global and local investors, capital providers and banking partners and has a strong track record of investing and creating value in a variety of structures, including club deals, joint ventures and co-investments.
The group relies on local operating teams to identify, develop and manage real assets and other alternative investments around the World. With more than 300 employees, Stoneweg has operational presence and teams on the ground in 23 offices across 17 countries in Europe, the US and Singapore.

Key People

Jaume Sabater
Jaume Sabater is a former Director at Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild S.A, specialized in real estate and alternative investments, where he was head of real estate and dedicated accounts. He was responsible for the launch of the first Swiss Real Estate SICAV (ERRES).
He studied Business administration at ESADE Business & Law School in Barcelona and obtained a master degree in international management from the Community of European Management Schools both in St Gallen University and ESADE Barcelona.

Joaquin Castellvi
Joaquín Castellví is a seasoned investment professional with a strong background in transaction management across major consultancy firms, investment banks, and real estate development. Over his career, he has been directly involved in transactions exceeding €8 billion, specializing in deal structuring, asset acquisitions, and investment management. Joaquin co-founded Stoneweg in 2015, and is based in Geneva. He holds a Master’s degree from the University of Barcelona and an MBA from Ramon Llull University.

Max-Hervé George
Max-Hervé George is a French entrepreneur, qualified investor, and expert in real estate acquisitions and special situation transactions. He co-founded Ultima Capital Group in 2012, leading Ultima Capital SA to a successful stock market listing before selling his majority stake in 2023 for €1.4 billion.
Through Icona Capital Group, his fully owned investment arm, he has built a diversified portfolio across real estate, fintech, renewable energy, and Swiss private banking, partnering with leading global financial institutions.

Mark McLaughlin
Mark McLaughlin is a former founding partner at MC Property, he previously held various leadership positions, including Managing Director, Europe at Cromwell Property Group, responsible for €4bn of Assets Under Management across 12 European countries. Mark has overseen transactions exceeding €5bn across Europe. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Dundee, Scotland, and certifications from INSEAD and City University of London. He is also a member of the RICS.

Yvan Mermod
Yvan Mermod was previously a Partner at KPMG Switzerland, where he oversaw the Investment Management sector for French speaking Switzerland. He is especially knowledgeable on regulatory requirements and corporate governance (risk management, processes and internal controls).
Yvan holds a Msc in Economy & Finance from University of Geneva and is a Swiss Certified Accountant with Advanced Federal Diploma.

Wouter Zwetsloot
Wouter has over 20 years of European experience in real estate investment, asset management and ESG, including as a founding partner at MC Property and Head of Real Estate at Cromwell Property Group. He has a proven track record in optimising portfolios, revitalising underperforming assets, and navigating complex investment scenarios. Wouter holds an MSc from the University of Greenwich and an MRE from the Amsterdam School of Real Estate.

Patrick Lowe
Patrick’s experience is pan-European, cross-sector, in private and public markets for a breadth of risk profiles with the majority of his experience in the office sector.
He has an MSc in Real Estate Investment and Finance from Henley Business School and a BA Hons from the University of Manchester.

Juan Galbis
Juan Galbis was previously a partner at the architect and engineering firm COT & Partners. Juan has also held several analytical roles in real estate investment analysis at Quercus Fund and served as an investment advisor within a financial management firm.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
